Wilde and Company has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up just south of Vegreville, where my Dad ran the farm, and my Mom, Colette, worked at Wilde and Co. Growing up, I refused the idea of pursuing accounting, since the job description lacked the excitement of other professions. Well, that all changed when I became old enough to see the partying that these accountants do at the annual April 30th celebration. I started working at Wilde and Co. in the summers while attending the University of Alberta. I have taken part in the annual Christmas parties and golf tournaments that the office has catered, which has justified my mom’s description of how exciting accounting can truly be!

Sports have always been an important part of my life. I have taken part in volleyball and basketball intramurals throughout university, and currently enjoy helping out with coaching the high school girls’ basketball team. The Wilde and Co. slow pitch team has also been a source of enjoyment during the summer months. In addition to sports, music has played a prominent part in my life through playing the violin and piano.

I have worked four summers with Wilde and Company, while completing my Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta. After graduating in December, I have started full time at the office, and will begin module one of CASB on May 1.

Accountants aren’t boring people, we just get excited over boring things.
