I
was born and raised in Edmonton. In 1997, I married Kelly
Febrouski who has a mixed grain and cattle farm just south
of Mundare. We welcomed our daughter Taylor to our family
in 1999 and our son Dylan in 2003. I have been on the
Vegreville Preschool Association board in the capacity
of Treasurer for 2003 & 2004. I spend my leisure time
with my family and friends.
I
received my schooling in Edmonton and obtained my Certified
General Accountant designation in 2001. Prior to moving to
Vegreville, I was employed with the Finance Department of
Alberta Public Works for over nine years.
Although
personal tax is very satisfying and gets my adrenaline pumping,
I especially enjoy the corporate side of things including
farm corporations. The balance of my time is spent on municipal
audits and accounting software consulting.
Generally,
interest expense is deductible for income tax purposes provided
the borrowed funds are used to earn income. When borrowing,
try to borrow for investment or business purposes before borrowing
for personal reasons. When repaying debt consider repaying
loans on which interest is non-deductible before repaying
debt on which the interest is deductible. After all, why would
you prematurely eliminate an arrangement that provides a measure
of tax relief before eliminating one that does not?
