My
wife, Shawna and I moved to Vegreville in June 2005 and
were married in October 2006. Shawna works at the new
Wall-Mart as the pharmacist manager. I enjoy all sports,
in particular hockey, skiing, curling and slow-pitch.
I also enjoy spending my time outdoors camping, canoeing
and fishing.
I
was born and raised in a picturesque small town in Southwest
Saskatchewan called Eastend. It is located in the Frenchman
River Valley near the beautiful Cypress Hills. After high
school I went to university in Saskatoon where I obtained
my Bachelor of Commerce Degree. I then enrolled in the Certified
General Accountants program (CGA) this entailed further education
through correspondence classes as well as broadening my professional
competencies through work experience. My first accounting
employment took me to Northeast Saskatchewan to the town of
Nipawin where I worked and lived for a little over a year.
Once Shawna finished her pharmacy degree we started looking
for a community where we could both find good jobs and had
the great small town atmosphere that we both grew up with.
After a short search we decided on Vegreville and moved here
in June of 2005. I have now completed the CGA program and
obtained the CGA designation in December of 2006.
During my time working in public practice, I have gained
experience in municipal audit, personal and corporate tax,
and the farm assistance program known as CAIS. I am not
yet specialized in any one area but continue to develop
my knowledge in the broad areas that public accounting offers.
A
good set of accounting records and reports are one of the
best tools for successful management. One of the best investments
a business can make is in having a knowledgeable accountant
providing them with advice and keeping them out of trouble
with CRA!
